Boyne Valley Food Series AGM tomorrow

The Boyne Valley Food Series will hold its annual meeting tomorrow at 3pm in Donegans of Monasterboice, Drogheda
The Boyne Valley Food Series is all about the coming together of like-minded people in the Boyne Valley Region, who are passionate about food and keen to celebrate the journey it takes from the local producer to the table, to experience this wonderful ‘place on a plate’.
Having started as the Meath Food Series in 2014, and due to its phenomenal success, this group has evolved to become The Boyne Valley Food series, incorporating food producers and restaurants in the Louth area.
The Boyne Valley Food Series hosted no less than a 45 food based events between 1st May and 30th September in 2015, incorporating various events such as ‘A Taste of the Estate Dinner’ at Tankardstown, Blossom Walk at Grove Farm Orchard; The Russell Restaurant Tapas Trail; Meet the Producer at Newgrange Gold Oils and a Mad Hatters Tea Party at The Vanilla Pod Kells.
Following on from these events, the Series received recognition for its culinary efforts by being one of the 10 Finalists in the RAI Foodie Town competition 2015 and a very successful inaugural ‘ Festive Taste of the Boyne Valley’, Christmas Food Fair held at Gavin Duffy’s Kilsharvan House at the end of November.
If there are any new food businesses, artisan producers, breweries or restaurants who are out there and who have a great story to tell, then they are invited to come along and attend the AGM and the group will be delighted to help them put their product on the Boyne Valley Food Series Map.
The guest speaker on the afternoon is Ms Sinead Hennessy, Head of Food Tourism for Failte Ireland, who will speak on Food Tourism in Ireland.
