Funeral of Michael McGovern in Kells on Sunday

The death has occurred of well known Kells community activist Kevin Michael McGovern, described as a 'poet, writer, actor and Local Hero'. As his heartbroken family and the community of Kells try to come to terms with their great sadness on the loss of one much loved, there is a sense of gratitude, love and respect as Michael is remembered for his outstanding service to the community of Kells, his beloved town, his birth place and a place where his valuable voluntary work was done over many years.

Michael will repose at Our Lady's Hospital Mortuary, Navan Saturday, 23rd January, from 3.30pm until 4.30pm. Removal at 4.45pm arriving at St. Colmcille's Church, Kells at 5.30pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday, 24th January, at 12.15pm followed by burial in St. Colmcille's Cemetery.

Michael was predeceased by his parents and his sister Ester, and is survived by his wife Pat, sons Kevin, Danny, Eamon, sisters Liz and Imelda, brothers John, Sam, Jim, Kieran and Paul, his auntie Aggie and uncle George, nephews, nieces and a very large circle of family and friends in Kells. Following Michael's burial, everyone is invited to join the family in the Sawmills Church Lane, Kells for refreshments and to celebrate the life of a local hero.
