Man critical following Navan assault

Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in the Windtown area of Navan this afternoon which has left a man in a critical condition in hospital.
It is understood the man, who is in his twenties, was assaulted by two men in the driveway of a house in Tailteann Crescent, Navan, at around 2pm. He was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where he is in a critical condition.
The scene has been sealed off. Investigating gardai are appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the assault to contact Navan Garda Station at (046) 9079930 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
They are also anxious to speak to anyone with information on a silver saloon vehicle that was in the area around the time.
