Digital detox retreat in meath this weekend

A new digital detox programme to tackle the growing number of people suffering from mental fatigue as a result of technology overload in Ireland will be launched in Meath this weekend.
The inaugural ‘Unplug’ retreat takes place from Friday, 23rd to Sunday, 25th October at Dunderry Park, outside Navan.
Recent wellbeing initiatives such as Morning Gloryville Dublin and the recent Wellfest have shown Ireland’s appetite for wellness attracting thousands of people.
Emer Duffy, health neuroscience expert and teacher at Unplug, said technology is affecting the way people think, feel and behave. The sheer volume of devices we all have results in constant multi-tasking, often contributing to mental fatigue. Attendees at this weekend’s retreat at Dunderry Park will get instructions prior to arriving as how to gradually ‘power down’.
The Morning Gloryville Dublin founders, Chris Flack and William Meara, wanted to take their appetite for spreading happiness and making meditation accessible to all even further by launching the Unplug.ie digital detox.
They have worked with a panel of psychologists, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy specialists and technology experts to develop the programme. The aim is to run an event every quarter and have an Unplug Festival in summer 2016.
Unplug 1.0 takes place on 23rd, 24th and 25th October and is an alcohol-free event. See www.unplug.ie for more details.
