Enterprise town initiative comes to trim this weekend

Bank of Ireland brings it 'Enterprise Town’ initiative to Trim this Friday and Saturday, 16th and 17th October. The aim is to promote and drive business momentum for SMEs, the tourism sector, the wider sports and social community and schools in the area.

A Business & Community Expo takes place from 4pm to 8pm on Friday in Trim GAA Centre which will be opened by Rose of Tralee Elysha Brennan. Over 70 local businesses will showcase at the event and special guest speaker is entrepreneur Gavin Duffy of Dragon’s Den fame who will give a presentation at 6.30pm.

As well as a panel discussion and networking opportunities, attendees will have the chance to see musical and dance performances by the Gluais Trad Band, Summerhill Stage School and TY students representing Scoil Mhuire Trim and Boyne Community School.

Mr Ireland, Karl Bowe will be MC for the Trim Fashion Show Finalé which features clothing from 10 local fashion and bridal retailers.

 

Saturday’s Sports and Community Expo which takes place in Trim GAA from 11am to 2pm will feature over 25 local clubs, organisations and businesses including Trim GAA, Trim Men’s Sheds, Tidy Towns and Scouts.

A special Q&A session will take place at 1.30pm with guest stars Mick O’Dowd, Meath Senior Football Manager and Natalya Coyle, Olympic Penthatlon athlete, who will also have her Olympic Torch with her.

Throughout the day there will be demos and entertainment from local clubs such as Trim Kenpo Karate, DanceForce Academy, Bounce Gymnastics, Zumba by Lorraine and Breathe Yoga. Activities for children include face-painting, a puppet show, cake-decorating, children’s entertainers and more.
