Launching the Meath Garda Youth Awards.

Closing date for meath garda youth awards is friday

There are only a few days left for nominations in the various categories for the Meath Garda Youth Awards.

This is the first year that the awards have been in Meath. The Gardai and Centra recognise that a lot of good work is being done by young people in every community throughout County Meath but we also know that there are adults who have done trogan work with youths over the past number of years and we would also like to see them get a nomination.

There are loads of categories – youth group of the year, leaders of the year, young person of the year. They don’t necessarily have to be youth club members, they can be a school group, sport group, first aid group whatever. And they can be nominated for anything – litter picking, care of elderly, being generally great at what they go. And there are a number of individual awards for young people in different categories.

You can complete as many forms as you wish which are available on pdf only on www.garda.ie, any Garda Station or the various Centra Stores around the county. Closing date is Friday  9th October 2015.

Rules:

1. Awards are confined to those young people who are between 13 and 21 years of age.

2. Permanent residence of the young person must be within the Meath Garda Division.

3. Awards are confined to individuals and groups of two or more young people

4. Judges decision is final

5. Any member of the public including Gardai may nominate anyone whom they feel deserves an award.

6. Nominations may come from family members or relative

The overall winners will receive their awards at a Gala dinner in the Headfort Hotel, Kells on Wednesday 11th November 2015.
