Rossnaree celebrates gonne and yeats connection this weekend

The inaugural ‘Muse Of Yeats’ festival takes place this weekend of October  in the surroundings of Rossnaree House, overlooking the Boyne at Slane.

On the 150th anniversary of WB Yeats birth, the special event carries particular resonance as it is organised by and features contributions by living descendants of the real life ‘Muse of Yeats’ Maud Gonne. The festival’s host and curator is Aisling Law, Gonne's great granddaughter and other family members including Imogen Stuart, Ireland's foremost sculptor, who will offer their reminiscences of the great lady. The exciting programme of events includes intimate poetry readings and discussions by renowned Yeatsian scholars, authors and artists. There will also be an opportunity to enjoy the other elements of Yeats and Gonne’s intertwined lives through theatre, music and a unique exhibition of previously unseen artwork by Maud Gonne from the family's archive.
