Funeral of lizzy hussey tomorrow

The young woman who died in an accident in County Cavan in the early hours of Monday morning will be buried in Ballinacree tomorrow.

Elizabeth (Lizzy) Hussey of Lough Crew View, Oldcastle, was fatally injured in the single car collision on the Crosskeys to Ballyjamesduff Road, a short distance from Crosskeys, in the early hours of Monday morning.

Lizzy, who was in her late 20s, was a popular young local woman, a former pupil of St Oliver’s Community School, who worked in the Riverfront Hotel in Virginia. She had previously worked in the Napper Arms Hotel.

Her mother Caroline Hussey died four years ago.

Gardai in Baileboro are investigating the collision which they were alerted to at approximately 7.30am on Monday.

Lizzy was the sole occupant of the car, which had left the road.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her remains are reposing at her residence today from 1pm to 10pm. Her remains will be removed to St Brigid’s Church, Ballinacree for Funeral Mass at 11am on Thursday with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The house is private on Thursday morning.
