Death of young meath man in monaghan accident

A young Meath man has died in a workplace accident in Monaghan.

He has been named as of Robert O'Reilly, Milltown, Kilmainhamwood.

Gardai and the Health and Safety Authority are investigating an incident in which the 19 year-old was killed in a workplace accident in Carrickmacross in Monaghan earlier this morning.

It is understood the young man was fatally injured at around 9am this morning at a farm near Castleross. He was subsequently taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for treatment where he later died from his injuries.

 The Health and Safety Authority and the gardaí have launched two separate investigations.
