Local special olympians to be honoured this evening

A parade will take place in Navan this evening to honour the achievements of our three local Special Olympians who won four medals between them at the Special Olympics World Summer Games held in Los Angeles.

Francis Power, Liam Foley and Rosemary O'Reilly were part of the 88-strong Irish team that returned home to a hero's welcome at Dublin Airport this morning.
Their remarkable success will be celebrated locally this evening with a parade through Navan followed by a reception at the local town hall.

Meath's fourth medal was won by Rosemary O'Reilly (28) from Tara who won silver in the individual golf competition.

The parade kicks off at 7pm from Navan’s Fair Green and continues on to Railway Street, Canon Row, Abbey Road, Kennedy Road, Market Square and Watergate Street where the medallists will be honoured with a special reception at Navan Town Hall at 8pm.
