Meath's Liam Foley left it late as he collected his second medal on the final day at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Los Angeles when he claimed silver in the badminton.

There was also a fourth place ribbon for Navan's Francis Power in the mixed doubles table tennis with Carol Catling from Newtownabbey.

Liam Foley teamed up with Kelly Delaney in the badminton mixed doubles and they claimed the silver medals after a great performance.

There was also gold for Brian Hooper (Wexford) and Amy Quinn (Wicklow) in the badminton mixed doubles.

Team Ireland ladies basketball team put in huge performance to claim Gold

The Football 11-a-side clinch a bronze medal in thrilling penalty shoot-out at the Drake Stadium in UCLA to beat Iceland 5-4.

The Team Ireland delegation for the Special Olympics World Summer Games, Los Angeles 2015 included 88 athletes, a management and coaching team of 40 and 155 volunteers.

Team Ireland athletes competed in 12 sports: Aquatics, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Bocce, Bowling, Equestrian, Football (five-a-side and 11-a-side), Golf, Gymnastics, Kayaking, Table Tennis.

Team Ireland will return to T2 Dublin Airport just after 8am on Tuesday August 4th. 
There will be a reception for the Meath athletes in Navan on Tuesday evening.
