The late Paddy O'Brien.

Navan clubs fitting tribute to paddy

Navan O’Mahonys GFC will dedicated its grounds at Brews Hill to the late Paddy O’Brien this coming Sunday, 19th July.
Paddy O’Brien Park will be formally launched at a ceremony starting at 12 noon with a children’s parade from Scoil Mhuire to Brews Hill, followed by an afternoon of fun, sports and music.
There will be a juvenile, foorball, hurling and comogie blitz, a recital by Navan Silver Band, face-painting, novelty events and mixed adult football and hurling challenges, followed by an evening of music, song and dance in the clubhouse.
The Sam Maguire Cup will be in attendance, courtesy of the All-Ireland Champions, Kerry.

The gesture is considered a fitting tribute to the late Paddy, who died in 2010. His name is synonymous with Navan O'Mahonys where he was a friend and mentor to thousands of young people playing Gaelic games over a 50-year period.
