All set for the start of the ciaran maree research fund cycle

A large number of cyclists are expected to participate in the annual charity cycle staged by the Gibbstown Wheelers which will take place on Sunday 24th May.

Funds raised from the cycle will go towards the Ciaran Maree Cancer Research Fund.

The organisers of the event seek to cater for all cyclists with three courses mapped out consisting of 100k, 80km and a more leisurely 40k.

Ciaran Maree from Donaghpatrick, outside Navan passed away in 2007 from one of the rarest forms of cancer known to modern medicine.

The family have since embarked on a hugely successful campaign to raise funds for cancer research.

To-date they have generated 314,000 euro which has been passed on to the oncology unit in the Mater Hospital, Dublin. The family insist that none of the funds generated are used up by administration costs.

Those looking to take part in the cycle can contact Stephen (086) 1785271 or register on-line @precisiontiming.net.
