New playground for johnstown

Johnstown is to get a new children’s playground and a consultation progress is about to begin to identify the best location for the facility.
At a meeting of Navan Municipal District Council last week, the Mayor of Navan, Cllr Sinead Burke, asked county council officials to detail what exactly the €200,000 allotted for the Johnstown area in the Meath Capital Plan would be spent on. She asked them to bear in mind the area has no playground or
community facilities.
She was told the Capital Budget recently presented to councillors made a provision of €200,000 for Johnstown under the heading recreation and amenity.
The intention is that this will be used to fund the provision of a playground in the Johnstown area, the council said.

The next steps are that the council will engage in local consultation to identify the best location for the playground within the park and when a location is agreed, the council will appoint a company to design and construct the playground and install the equipment.
