Roses rallying call

Meath Rose Elysha Brennan is rallying her supporters to follow her to Portlaoise for the Rose of Tralee Regional Festival next week, from 28th to 31st May.
Rose of Tralee Host Dáithí Ó Sé will interview each of the 56 Roses, including Bettystown medical student Elysha, over three nights before two judging panels select 23 Roses to go forward to the International Festival in Tralee next August.Twenty-three Regional Roses will go forward to the Rose of Tralee International Festival.

Twenty-one year-old Elysha recently told how she battled cancer while she was about to sit her Leaving Cert in 2012 but delayed undergoing chemotherapy until she had completed her exams. her hard work paid off and she began her medical studies in the Royal College of Surgeons in 2013, a few months after she learned she was in complete remission from Hodgkins lymphoma.
