Kells plans to mark 1916 centenary

A public meeting is being held in Kells this Wednesday evening, 13th May, at 8pm in the Headfort Arms Hotel to discuss 1916 centenary celebrations in the town next year.
The meeting will discuss initial preparations to commemorate and celebrate the centenary of the Easter Rising in and around Kells in 2016.
Local Fianna Fail Cllr Sean Drew is urging interested individuals and groups to attend. “Everyone is welcome, so please come along to discuss the plans and put forward your views and ideas. Let us all get together to ensure that Kells pays a fitting tribute in 2016 to our patriot heroes of 1916,” he said.
