Intel launches scholarship for women

Intel Ireland has this week launched its 2015 Women in Technology scholarship programme.

The scholarship programme aims to encourage a new generation of high-achieving women to take up the challenge of a career in science and technology. The programme forms part of a wider focus by Intel on empowering girls and women by fostering educational opportunities and encouraging females to participate, prosper, and lead in the global economy.

The scholarships are open to female school leavers entering, in September 2015, specified four year undergraduate degree courses in science, technology and engineering at a variety of third level institutions across Ireland. The program offers a monetary grant valued at €2,000 per annum as well as opportunities for work placements at the Intel Leixlip or Shannon campuses. Each scholar is also assigned a mentor who is an Intel employee to assist and provide advice on managing their academic career.

The window for applications is open until October 18th and further details, along with the online application form, can be found at www.intel.ie/womenintechnology. Applicants are invited to submit their applications to either the Intel Leixlip or Intel Shannon programmes depending on their geographic location and academic interest.
