Water protest marches this weekend in two towns

Right2Water demonstrations are taking place in Athboy and Oldcastle this Saturday as protesters seek to keep up pressure on the government to scrap the controversial water charges.

The Athboy march will take place at 1pm through the town, while the event in Oldcastle will begin at 2.30pm.

Right2Water supporters in Kells and surrounding area will also be travelling to Dublin to take part in the National Demonstration Saturday on Saturday 21st March at 1pm.
Meath spokesperson Seamus McDonagh said: “Since October last year, hundreds of thousands of people have mobilised across Ireland under the Right2Water banner to demonstrate their belief that water is a human right and to demand the abolition of domestic water charges. The local demonstrations last November saw up to 1,000 people turn out in Kells united in their opposition to charges.'
He said Right2Water supporters from all over Meath will be travelling to Dublin on Saturday 21st to send a clear message to  the government that this campaign will continue until domestic water charges are abolished.
