Staying safe on the roads video aimed at young

Young drivers, and young students approaching driving age, are the targets of a series of new thought-provoking videos produced by tyre manufacturer Michelin that, together, are intended to teach teenagers the importance of staying safe on our roads by highlighting the dangers of peer pressure, drink driving, speeding and distraction.

Based on what Michelin says are ‘real stories of young people whose lives have been shattered by reckless driving’, each video uses life-size puppets to communicate its hard-hitting message.

Produced by top UK puppeteer Steve Wright – who visited Ireland recently to talk to students at Malahide, Portmarnock and Donabate Community Schools – the series can by viewed on the Michelin’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/MichelinUK), on Twitter (@MichelinTyres) or on Michelin’s own dedicated YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/michelinuk).

Commenting, their road safety project manager Corinne Li said ‘educating young people about road safety is just one way we can help them to protect themselves, and others, while they are out and about.’
