New jobs for navan

Navan is to receive a major jobs boost over the next year as Prepaid Financial Services (PFS) has announced a further 23 jobs will be created in the town over the next twelve months.

The company, which is based in central London, set up an office in Market Square in Navan five months ago, employing seven people and according to CEO, Noel Moran, they intend to expand to create a further 23 jobs by the end of next year.
Mr Moran, who is originally from Commons Road in Navan established the business in London in 2007 and currently employs 60 people in the UK and Malta.
The company was this year named by the Sunday Times as the 16th Fastest Growing Technology company in the UK – up from 23rd last year.
PFS provides payment solutions, primarily prepaid cards to corporate clients and is one of the main providers for MasterCard prepaid in Europe.
Company turnover in 2013 was £10.4 million and in 2014 will exceed £18 million.
PFS is live in 18 different European countries, providing 19 different currencies.
“While our main core issuing and payments business is located in London we have decided to expand the business into online payment acquiring and base this business (Ecomm Merchant Solutions) in Ireland,” Mr Moran explained.
“We plan to grow the Navan business to 30 plus before the end of next year. Our main target market is large on-line merchants. We can provide on-line merchants with the ability to take payment over the phone or through the web.”
 Meath County Council Director of Services, Kevin Stewart, warmly welcomed the news that the company was expaning and creating new jobs in Navan.
“This is further evidence that Navan is a key location for business.”
He said that businesses were fuinding the town suits their needs as evidenced by other financial services companies in the town.
“This is very good news for Navan,” he said.
