Meath house prices rise by 22 per cent

The price of an average three-bed semi in Meath has risen by 22.47per cent to the end of September this year, according to a national survey carried out by Real Estate Alliance (REA).
The price of an average three-bed semi in the county is now €172,500, a rise of 9.03per cent over the past three months, the REA Average House Index has found.
REA Grimes in Ashbourne report a shortage of stock and the majority of vendors are people trading up and moving from three-bed semis to four-bed detached.
In Navan and Kells, REA T&J Gavigan say the market is very active and they also report a shortage of supply, fuelling price rises.
REA TE Potterton in Trim also report a lack of supply with demand coming from local buyers looking to trade up.
The Real Estate Alliance Average house index concentrates on Ireland’s typical stock home, the three-bed semi, giving a picture of the property market in towns and cities countrywide.
The average price of a three-bed semi is now €179,981 nationally including Dublin, an increase of €26,925 (17.59per cent) on the December 2013 figure of €153,056.
