Fine food at headfort on saturday

The doors of the historic Headfort House in Kells will be opened on Saturday to host a harvest feast called the ‘High King’s Tasting menu’.
The nine course meal will one of the concluding events of the Boyne Valley food series 2014.
The feast will be a celebration of fine produce from the Boyne Valley.
It will be set on a long table in the magnificent Robert Adam Ballroom, traditionally known as the Eating Parlour at Headfort House.
There were over 40 events in the Boyne Valley Food Series during the summer months, from Electric Bike Food Tours to Food Safari’s to Gourmet Cycles and a Festival of Opera and Food.
Olivia Duff who coordinates the Boyne Valley Food Series said “Headfort House in Kells is one of the most significant historic properties in Ireland principally due to a magnificent suite of rooms on the ground floor created in the 1770s to the designs of the internationally renowned Scottish architect Robert Adam.
“They are the only remaining examples of his work in Ireland and we are absolutely delighted that Jo-Anna Townshend, Events Manager at Headfort House is accommodating this superb food event in the splendid Headfort House”.
