Body found in Collon

The body of a male in his twenties was found at Ballymacan, Collon yesterday evening at around 5pm.

Paul Gallagher, 26, had been shot several times. His body was found by a farmer.

 He was well-known to gardaí and was originally from Donaghmede in Dublin. He had been reported missing by his family three days ago.

The office of the State pathologist was notified and attended the scene. The body has been removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where a post mortem is due to take place this morning. The area has been sealed off for a technical examination.
