Meath women travelling to UK for abortions fifth highest in the state

At least 119 Meath women had abortions in England and Wales last year, according to figures released by the UK Department of Health.
Meath women had the fifth highest in the state.
The numbers for the county could be greater however, as 885 Irishwomen did not inform the clinics of the county in which they lived.
Dublin had the highest number of terminations at 1,164, while Cork had 262, Galway had 133 and Kildare had 124.
Some 93 Louth women had abortions in England and Wales last year and 22 Cavan women also availed of the services in the UK.
