Two arrests in murder investigation

Two men have been arrested as part of the investigation into the murders of Eoin O’Connor and Anthony Keegan, whose bodies were found on a County Meath island.

Both males were arrested in the Cavan area this morning. 

The two men, one in his 20's and the other in his 30's are currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007, at Kells Garda Station. 


Gardaí commenced a murder investigation following the discovery of the bodies of 32-year-old Eoin O Connor and 33-year-old Anthony Keegan on an island on Lough Sheelin on the 26th May. Both males had been reported missing on the 22nd of April 2014.

The investigation is ongoing.
