Old schoolfriends to get together in Duleek

Former pupils of Duleek National School will get a chance to relive their schooldays in August.
A number of past pupils of Duleek Boys’ and Girls’ National School are organizing a school reunion on 16th August (Fair Day Weekend) for pupils who attended both the schools during the period of 1960’s and 1970’s.
Two separate 16-classroom schools, one for boys and one for girls, started construction in Duleek last January and pupils are hoping to be moving into their new accommodation next year. Eventually, the old school buildings will be demolished to make way for a playground, football pitch and car park.
The reunion day will begin with a visit to the school between 2 and 4pm on Saturday 16th August, where there will be an opportunity  to visit classrooms and view exhibition of photographs and other memorabilia.
At 8.30pm that evening there will be a buffet meal and entertainment in the Westcourt Hotel, Drogheda.
On the Sunday morning at 11.30am, there will be a mass for all deceased past pupils.
Tickets are €25 and the proceeds will go towards: St. James Hospital, Bone Marrow Transplant Centre, where some past pupils have attended.
Should you have any photographs, stories or other memorabilia from your time in the school they would be delighted if you could make them available, as they hope to produce a souvenir booklet to mark the occasion.
All will be returned following the event.
They also hope to have a memorial seat erected in the Duleek Cemetery to remember deceased past pupils.
If you would like to attend, send your name, address, old photos and memories/stories of you time in Duleek School to the following email address: duleekpastpupilsreunion@gmail.com.
