Man injured in Dowth shooting

Gardaí at Slane are investigating a shooting incident which occurred at a house at Dowth, Slane, at approximately 9.45pm last night.
A 39 year old man answered his front door and was shot a number of times in the upper body and his leg.
Emergency services were contacted and the injured man was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he is currently being treated for his injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.
The scene of the shooting is currently preserved pending a Garda technical examination.
Investigations are continuing.
