Man dies following Academy Square incident

A post mortem is being carried out today on a 37 year old man who died yesterday at Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown following an incident that occured at an apartment at Academy Square, Navan.
Gardai in Navan are investigating the incident which occurred at about 1.45am on Thursday morning.
It is alleged that the occupants of the apartment were assaulted by a number of men. 
Two men were taken to hospital on Thursday man and one died yesterday.
It is believed the incident was the result of an aggravated burglary by a large group of men.
Gardai are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area, in Academy Street or near the Maxol Filling Station at around 1.30 to 2am on Thursday morning to contact Navan Garda station at 046 9079930 or the garda confidential line at 1800250025.
