Exercise circuit planned for Loyd

Plans are afoot to construct an exercise circuit close to the Car Park at Commons of Loyd in Kells, while the planning application for the Heritage Park there looks set to be lodged with Kells Town Council within the next week or two.

Kells Heritage Park Ltd are hoping to construct a 270m footpath circuit with six exercise machines.
Aidan Wall of Kells Heritage Park Ltd said they were applying for a grant for the circuit, which would provide an area where people could walk, run and use the exercise machines.
He said that the Kells Walking Group already use that area for a workout every Monday in conjunction with the Kells Resource Centre.
He said they expect to have full plans and specifications for phase one of the Kells Heritage Park within the next week or two and would then be applying for planning permission for the park.
