Schoolfriends organising concert for Breast Cancer Ireland

Schoolfriends from four of Navan’s secondary schools, as well as Colaiste Pobail, Rath Chairn, have come together to stage a concert in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland.
The concert, in the Newgrange Hotel, Navan, on Saturday 23rd November, will feature local bands, made up of friends of the organisers.
“It came about as a result of one of our friends seeing one of his friend’s mother going through breast cancer, and all that it involved, and we decided we wanted to do something for breast cancer research,” explains Karl McHale, organiser of the event, Arkade, along with Gary Byrne and Stephen Connolly.
Those involved go to school in St Patrick’s Classical School, Loreto and Mercy convents and Beaufort College, as well as Rath Chairn.
Bands and acts taking part include Jack and Cormac, stars of this year’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, Roses for Ria, Liam McGuckian, Red Riot, Recovery and Cancel Tomorrow.
Breast Cancer Ireland is a charity established to raise vital funding to support research into breast cancer. Under the direction of leading breast surgeon, Professor Arnold K Hill, the goal at Breast Cancer Ireland is to seek to transform breast cancer from often being a fatal disease, to a chronic illness, that can be maintained long term through treatment.
Tickets are available from Karl on (086) 339 1348 or Stephen on (087) 119 5029, or on the door.
