Gardai seize €560,000 worth of cannabis plants in Virginia.

Gardai seized 700 cannabis plants at a house and sheds at Carrigaloon, Virginia yesterday.
This premises was searched by the local Gardaí in Virginia with assistance from Garda National Drugs Unit (GNDU), who seized €2million worth of cannabis in searches in Virginia, Kerry and Roscommon yesterday.
 A large cannabis cultivation operation was discovered in the Virginia seizure. A Chinese male in his 50s was arrested and detained at Bailieboro Garda Station under Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

As part of Operation Nitrogen, three locations were identified and searched yesterday. A large cannabis cultivation operation was also found located inside a large industrial unit in Tralee. Two Vietnamese males were arrested inside the premises and approximately 1,800 cannabis plants, worth €1.3million were recovered. One male was arrested and a second received injuries when he jumped from the roof of the building in an attempt to escape. He is currently in Tralee General Hospital. Both have been arrested.
At a houseat Falty, Oldtown, Athlone, Co Roscommon €240,000 worth of cannabis was discovered in a house that had been converted for use as a cannabis growing facility. There was one Chinese male in his late 20s was arrested. The total value of the drugs seized at this location was €240,000.
