Poster campaign celebrates Boyne Valley festivals

The Boyne Valley is teeming with festivals this Summer. From music to literary to satire, the Boyne Valley has something for everyone. This is the message being communicated through the Boyne Valley Summer Festivals Campaign. With over 40 events taking place in this small region from now until September, Meath and Louth Local Authorities have joined together again, to promote the Boyne Valley as the main festival destination this Summer. Billboard posters have gone up in Meath, Louth and Dublin to highlight the events taking place and to encourage people to visit the area. The general public are encouraged to ‘like’ the Discover Boyne Valley facebook page to win lots of prizes to festivals throughout the Meath and Louth area.

Speaking at the launch of the campaign, Jackie Maguire, County Manager, Meath County Council said, ’I am very impressed with the level of enthusiasm and dedication invested by festival committees all around the Boyne Valley. In the year of The Gathering, the people of Meath have demonstrated an amazing ability to contribute in a very positive way to the Gathering Calendar of Events. The quality and variety of festivals taking place here over the Summer months will attract much needed overseas visitors. The intention of this campaign is to boost the festival’s own marketing drive and highlight the Boyne Valley as The Summer Festival Destination.’

This month alone, there are a host of events taking place including the first Hay Festival in Kells with international writers including John Boyne, author of the Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and Booker Prize Winner, John Banville along with children’s writers Jenny Valentine and Sarah Webb. Navan Spiegeltent  transformed Kennedy Plaza for the past week, and the Swift Satire Festival take splace in Trim this coming weekend.
