Gerard plans 25 marathon runs

Bettystown Man, Gerard Fay is about to undertake his biggest challenge to date to raise much needed funds for Cystic Fibrosis. Between now and October he intends to run 25 marathons, a 50 Mile Run from Drogheda to Naas and a 65 Mile Run from Cavan to Drogheda. That’s almost 800 miles and he plans to finish with a flourish at the Dublin Marathon in October which will be his 100th marathon. On May 18th Gerard will take part in the Killarney Marathon for CF, following this Gerard will travel to Newry to complete the marathon on 26th May.
 
Gerard has also set himself a hefty target in the fundraising element of his scheme. He’s already raised €100,000 for Cystic Fibrosis but, by the time he finishes the Dublin Marathon in October, he hopes to have raised a total of €150,000. All funds raised will be used for Equipment in CF facilities throughout the country.
 
Gerard, who is Chairman of the North Eastern branch of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland is hoping to get 100 People to run the Dublin marathon with him, each raising a minimum of €100.00.
