11 candidates to contest by-election
Following close of nominations at 12 noon today, the candidates in the Meath East by-election are: Fianna Fáil Senator Thomas Byrne; Ben Gilroy of Direct Democracy Ireland; Labour Cllr Eoin Holmes; Charlie Keddy (non-party); Mick Martin (non-party), Seamus McDonagh of The Workers’ Party; Fine Gael's Helen McEntee; Gearoid O'Brien; Sean O'Buachalla of the Green Party; Darren O'Rourke of Sinn Féin, and Jim Tallon (non-party).
The by-election is on 27th March.
