Helen McEntee is to run for the seat of her late father, Shane, in the Meath East by-election on 27th March.

Ms McEntee, who was personal assistant and press officer to Minister McEntee, was the only nominee at the Fine Gael selection convention in the Headfort Arms Hotel, Kells, tonight.

The 26 year-old is a graduate of politics, economics and law, and also studied journalism and media.
