Gormanston shooting

A man is reported to have been shot dead in Gormanston this afternoon. He was shot in the car park of the Huntsman Inn just before 2.30pm. Gardai are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident and the scene is preserved pending a full forensic and technical examination. An incident room has been established at Laytown Garda Station and investigating gardai are appealing for witnesses. Gardai have arrested a number of males, who are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act at a number of north Dublin Garda Stations.
