Revenue seize cigarettes in Ratoath

Officers from Revenue's Customs Service have seized 20,000 cigarettes in Ratoath with a retail value of approximately €8,000 and a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €5,500. Officers discovered the cigarettes on Wednesday when they conducted a search at a storage premises in the town. The cigarettes were found concealed in two 'Master Cases', one inside a wheelie bin and the other concealed in polythene. Business records were also seized from the premises. Investigations are continuing.
