Motorcyclist dies in M2 collision

Gardai in Ashbourne are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on the M2 Ashbourne tonight, 4th January, between a motor cyclist and a vehicle.

The collision occurred at approximately 7.30pm on the M2 northbound between the St Margarets and the Ashbourne/Ratoath exits. A motorcyclist was fatally injured in the collision. No one else was injured.

The motorway is closed in both directions for a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.

Gardai in Ashbourne are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been on the N2/M2 at the time of the collision or shortly before the collision to contact them in Ashbourne on 01 8010600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
