Gardai in Kells are appealing for information from the public on an attempted raid on the AIB in Kells shortly before 5pm on Monday evening.

Two men dressed in dark clothing attempted to ram a rear window of the building in Kenlis Place.

The bank was closed at the time, but staff were still on the premises.

They were unable to break into the bank because of re-enforced glass and made their getaway on a motor-bike in the direction of Headfort Place.

Kells gardai are appealing for anyone who may have been the two men as they made their getaway, or who saw anything suspicious, to contact them at 046 9240999.
