Cyclist killed in Drumconrath collision

A 55 year old cyclist was killed in a road accident, which occurred at Balrath, Drumconrath on Wednesday evening.

The man - named locally as Stanley Rountree of Balrath, Drumconrath - was involved in a collsion with a car at 5pm at Balrath, approximately 1km outside Drumconrath.

He was removed to Our Lady's Hospital, Navan where he was later pronounced dead. The sole occupant of the car was uninjured.

The scene was examined by Garda forensic collision investigators before it was reopened.
