€278,000 as Gerry spins the wheel

Skryne man Gerry Devins won €250,000 in this weekend's Winning Streak show on RTE, when he spun the wheel. Gerry had already won €28,200 on the other TV Gameshow games, helped on by hosts Marty Whelan and Geri Maye, but it was the spin of a wheel that landed him the big prize. His total take home prize money was €278,200 in one of the biggest payout shows since Winning Streak returned to TV screens after its summer break. Leitrim native Gerry lives a mile and a half from the Hill of Tara in for the last sixteen years. He is married to Siobhan for fourteen years and they have three children - Aimee (12), Leah (10) and Niall (5). He works as a miner at Tara Mines. It was Siobhan who purchased the lucky Winning Streak Scratch Card in the Corballis Centre in Ratoath and Gerry put his name on it. He didn't see last week's show but received lots of calls telling him the brilliant news. It has been a lucky week for the Ratoath shop - last week's €500,000 swinning Euromillions ticket was also bought at the Centra store, Corballis Shopping Centre. The ticket was a€6 Quickpick number selection.
