Navan collision claims young woman's life

A woman in her thirties was fatally injured tonight when the car she was driving was in collision with a bus at Kells Road, Navan. She was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where she was pronounced dead. The only other passenger in the car, a three year old girl, was taken to hospital with injuries described as not life threatening. A number of people on the bus, including the driver, were also taken to Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital with injuries described as minor.

The collision occurred at Malone's Toyota Garage just outside Navan town.

The stretch of road is currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.

Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses to contact Navan Garda Station on 046-9079930, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
