The late Joan Duignan

The death has occurred of the former Meath Chronicle journalist, Joan Duignan.

Joan worked with the Meath Chronicle for three decades as a senior news and political reporter, covering all the main events of county Meath and her home town of Navan in particular, and also contributed to many national titles.

Her colleagues at the Meath Chronicle were saddened to hear of her unexpected death this morning (Friday), and extend deepest sympathies to her family.

She is survived by brothers David and Brian, sister Helen, sisters-in-law Ann-Louise and Anna, nieces Emily, Mollie and Ellen, nephew Tom, relatives and friends.

Joan will be reposing at the residence of her sister, Helen, Windtown, Navan, from 2pm on Sunday afternoon. Her remains will arrive at St Mary's Church at 10am on Monday morning for funeral Mass, followed by burial in St Mary's Cemetery.
