
Lobinstown was the scene of as major Garda operation as a major cannabis growing facility was uncovered on Friday. Gardai have issued a statement saying that two males have been arrested as part on an on-going operation.
Gardai from the Meath Divisional Drug Unit, assisted by the Navan Crime Unit, searched a house at Lobinstown on Friday 12th October and discovered 480 cannabis plants with an approximate street value of €384,000 (subject to analysis). The premises had been converted into a sophisticated growing and cultivating operation.
The Gardai searched the premises shortly after 2pm on Friday. Two males, aged 30 and 36 years, were arrested and conveyed to Kells Garda Station where they were detained under the provisions of Section 2 of Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. The area is being technically examined.
