Farmaphobia, Ireland's biggest Halloween ScarePark is seeking to build its cast of Scareactors for this October's event. Jobs are currently harder to find that skin on a skeleton, but these roles will be perfect for people who would be at home in a horror movie setting. These actors do not need to be photogenic models. Auditions will be held on Friday evening 5th October at Causey Farm, near Navan.

Farmaphobia is a theatrical 'Scarefest' spread across forty acres of Causey Farm and is now in its third year. It consists of three main attractions - the Psycho Path, Nightmare Manor and, new for this year, the Zombie Morgue.

Scare actors need to be flexible, able to improvise and confidently work with audiences. Some experience of professional or amateur acting is always helpful, but a fun disposition and a willingness to push people out of their comfort zones are more important. Some of the work will be outdoors, and all in the evening, so actors will need to be strong and resilient. Each of the roles is crucial to bringing the scenes to life. Months have been spent designing and building sets which will now be populated with nasty inmates primed to terrify.

"We need uninhibited people who can move fast and act fierce. It's a high energy job that requires stamina, enthusiasm and confidence but there's a great buzz from making people shiver in their boots" says Deirdre Murtagh, who will be overseeing auditions next Friday. She also mentioned that "Ugly is good - these roles are perfect for people who with stage makeup and some prosthetics will definitely not look like your average friendly farmhand!"

For an audition slot actors should email info@causey.ie and they will be contacted with a suitable time. Performers should have their own transport and the rate of pay will be €9 per hour.
