Kells woman is 2012 winner of Meath People of Year Award

Theresa Olohan, winner of the overall 2012 Meath People of the Year Award

Kells woman Theresa Olohan was a popular hometown winner of the overall Meath People of the Year Award on Friday night.

Theresa, the founder of the Special Hands Group which works with families and children with learning difficulties, was "speechless" after she was named the top winner on the night at the Meath Rehab-organised event at the Headfort Arms Hotel in Kells.

The popular Kells lady had been among 10 category winners honoured on the night, having been nominated for the 'Unsung Hero Award'. Cheered on by a large group of fellow volunteers and supporters, Theresa said she was very proud to receive the award on behalf of her group.
