Murder victim laid to rest

A large crowd of mourners gathered at St Mary's Church in Navan this afternoon (Friday) to pay their last respects to Jacqueline McDonagh, the 34 year-old Navan native mother-of-three who was murdered in her Dundalk home 10 days ago.

The mourners were led by Ms McDonagh's parents Christy and Winnie, her children Chloe, Nakita and Michael, brothers and sisters and extended family.

The mass was celebrated by Fr Paddy Kelly who described Ms McDonagh as a fun loving and jolly person who loved life and had a great heart.

In his homily, Fr Kelly said that to die with such violence and brutality at such a young age was "tragic beyond words" and "truly heartbreaking". Ms McDonagh was laid to rest in St Finian's Cemetery, Navan.
