Brothers Liam and Adam Fay from Skryne helped launch the Hotpoint and Barnardos' free laundry service to take place at the weekend's Electric Picnic.

Families camping at this year's Picnic can expect home comforts courtesy of the free Hotpoint Laundry Service. For the second year running, Hotpoint is providing a free laundry service to all families attending the three-day music and arts festival in Stradbally from Friday August 31st until Sunday September 2nd . Clothes, sleeping bags, bed linen and even teddy bears can be kept fresh throughout the three-day event. The service is entirely free; donations will be collected for Barnardos children's charity this year.

Ruth Guy, Barnardos director of fundraising and marketing, said: "Barnardos is delighted to be at this year's Electric Picnic. 2012 has been a particularly challenging year for us and every cent raised brings us closer to our target to help more and more children in Ireland. We have 42 centres in communities in Ireland and work with more than 6,300 children and families each year. We urge families camping at this year's Electric Picnic to use the Hotpoint laundry service as much as possible and to donate so that Barnardos can continue its work throughout Ireland."

All clothes will be washed using Hotpoint's Eco Wash Function that can save up to 70 per cent in energy, helping to reduce energy consumption. Families will be kept entertained with a free photobooth and fancy dress costumes. There will also be colouring competitions for children running throughout the weekend.

"We are delighted to be providing the Hotpoint Laundry Service again at this year's Electric Picnic and of course we are delighted to be raising funds for Barnardos," said Hotpoint's Channel Director, Gabriel Murtagh. "The work carried out by Barnardos is invaluable. The staff and volunteers are striving to make Ireland a better place for children. The charity needs funds to help some of Ireland's most vulnerable children and families."

The Hotpoint Laundry Service will operate during each day of the festival between 8am and 8pm.
