School community mourn talented student

The Ashbourne community is today mourning the tragic death of 15-year-old Craig Harford, who died on Sunday afternoon when he was struck by a car on the M2 Ashbourne bypass. Gardai are still investigating the circumstances of the collision, which took place before 5:00pm on Sunday. Craig was a popular student at Ashbourne Community School, where he recently completed third year. In May Craig was awarded the academic award for Excellence in Music. He was described as a bright student with great talent and love for music. Many of Craig's friends and classmates gathered at the school on Monday morning to mourn the loss of their peer. Craig Harford came to Ashbourne with his family when he was in third class. He attended St Mary's NS in Ashbourne. His family has close ties with Dunboyne.
