Lions Club to host mental health wellness workshop

Suicide or Survive (SOS), a charitable organisation that provides services and supports aimed at suicide prevention in Ireland, is running a free support workshop aimed at raising awareness of mental health issues and supporting those affected. Places at the Wellness Workshop" are normally €200 per delegate but  they are being offered free of charge thanks to a collaboration with Navan Lions Club. The Wellness Workshop will take place on 16th April at the Ardboyne Hotel, Dublin Road, Navan. Caroline McGuigan, CEO, SOS said: "We joined forces with the Navan Lions Club last year to bring our Wellness Workshop to Navan. I'm delighted that, due to that success, we are coming together again to offer help and support to the people of Navan through our Wellness Workshop. The day helps to raise awareness of mental health issue, but importantly, in these difficult times, the Wellness Workshop can help those of us who are finding it more difficult to cope than others. The symptoms of stress-related pressure can manifest themselves in both people's personal lives and in the workplace. The Wellness Workshop focuses on both aspects.". The 'Wellness Workshops' were developed by SOS drawing on the organisation's unique experience and expertise in the corporate, community and voluntary sectors. The workshops educate and empower attendees to manage their own mental health and to identify how they can support anyone with difficulties. SOS has held over thirty "Wellness Workshops" throughout Ireland in the past eighteen months and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. The Wellness Workshop is free to attend and anyone interested in joining the event in Navan should book their place by contacting SOS - 1890 577 577 or visit www.suicideorsurvive.ie.
